eBay Selling is an easy way to make spare cash. Like most things in life a little preparation goes a long way.
The first step is setting up your account. If you're new to eBay, it is best to start with a PayPal account. The simple steps are covered on our PayPal page, which also includes a link back here after you've applied (or click the Back button in your browser).
The second step is to set up your eBay account. Registration is simple - just click here or on the button on the left. When the eBay window opens, click on register and complete the application form. When you've finished, close the eBay window to return here.
After registering, the next step is to think about what you are selling from a potential customer point of view. They want an accurate description, a picture of the item and details of it's condition. This applies to everything you sell, but here we will look at it from the Toe by Toe point of view. It is a fact that Toe by Toe sales on eBay are rare. Most learners want to keep their little red book - it's a wonderful record of the progress they've made from a struggling reader to a proficient one. Also, for many, the book is simply not saleable once it has been marked. It is also a fact that when Toe by Toe is sold on eBay it almost always recoups over half the buying cost.
Most sales have included a photograph of the book. If you don't have a digital camera handy, you might like to try including this image.
Whether you use an image or a photograph, you must give as much detail as possible about the condition. If you have marked the book in pencil, then rubbed it out, then say so. Do not consider selling Toe by Toe if there are pages missing - it simply will not work properly. Also remember to describe Toe by Toe, perhaps also include a link to this website. It's good to let your potential buyers know about the success that you've had.
Finally, it is good to monitor eBay for a few days to get a feel for what is selling well. It is likely that you will not see another Toe by Toe sale, sometimes for several weeks. If you are happy to wait, use your eBay account to notify you when a Toe by Toe is being auctioned. As long as you are logged into your account, you can ask eBay to email you. You can either add the reminder in the 'My eBay' section by adding a Favourite Search, or you can Search for Toe by Toe and then ask for it to be saved to your Favourite Searches. Whichever option you chose, be sure to enclose "Toe by Toe" in quotes. If you don't use the quotes you will get hundreds of items that match the word toe.
If you don't want to wait for a Toe by Toe to be auctioned, then search for something like "teaching reading". Hint: Highlight "Toe by Toe" or "teaching reading" and drag your selected text into the search box above, then click Go. You'll soon see some successful eBay selling examples.
